How many of these lipstick mistakes are you guilty of

No face is truly made up without a swipe of lipstick as a finishing touch.

But, do you follow these rules when applying your favourite lippie?

Not exfoliating

Dry skin is a pain, no matter where on your body it is.

But your lips can be the most obvious, not to mention painful parts to experience dryness.

Combat this by gently exfoliating with a homemade scrub made of sugar to have a baby soft pouter.

Using the wrong shade

Using the wrong colour of lipstick can wash your face out or give your lips a shape they don't need.

Darker colours can make your lips look thinner.

While light shades can make your lips look oversized.

Not setting your lipstick

You've heard of setting spray for your make up, but there's a whole different approach when it comes to setting your lipstick in place.

The simplest approach to setting your lips is to apply a sheen of setting powder after the colour has dried.

But, if you want to try a new method, apply primer after your lip liner and watch your lips look fab all night long.

Over lining your lips

Lip liners are used to prevent your lipstick bleeding out of your lips and to make sure your make up lasts longer.

Never use a shade much darker than your lipstick as it can make you look older.
